Being the Center of Excellence in the Medical Field in the Northern Luzon, Angeles University Foundation Medical Center was among the very few hospital in the Philippines who took the pilot audit for PhilHealth Benchbook on the Improvement of Medical Services.
The sweat and tears of the group headed by its Vice President for Medical Affair and Medical Director, Dr. Ma. Lourdes Lagunilla and Vice President for Finance Mr. Laureano Santos paid off as very few areas for improvement were found. Thanks to the cooperation of the whole nursing staff, the Administrative Services and of the Engineering Department and of course to its then President, Honorable Emanuel Y. Angeles, without whom, this undertaking could never be a success.
This Benchbook was Philhealth's initiative for the improvement of services of our healthcare providers. They will be requiring hospital to comply by 2009. Part of their would be launching was this pilot run with AUFMC.
